With Data Technologies growing rapidly, the need for faster and more efficient Data Management has acquired incomparable significance in relation to previous years. The volume of information that DataCenter companies have to store and process, exceeds the capabilities that conventional methods could provide until today, creating the necessity of developing new systems which utilize contemporary means, tools and materials.
Since 2015, the volume of stored Data skyrocketed from 171 exabytes to 1327exabytes globally, reaching an increase point of 770% in Data volume and morethan 200% CARG (Compound Annual Growth Rate) for companies that were engaged in that field2. In order to confront the situation, COOLBLOCK developed a modern and flexible solution based in Greece, in order to cover directly the needs of the local and global industry.
COOLBLOCK is a semi-automated electromechanical device that uses state-of-the-art technologies for the cooling of informatics equipment. More specifically, COOLBLOCK utilizes the method of Single-Phase Immersion Cooling and aims for more effective cooling of Hardware and better Management of Computational Data.
The characterization of the cooling method as “more effective” responds not only to the increased heat dissipation and faster operation, but also refers to the functionality of the device (significantly lower noise in relation to previous technologies that utilize fans), lower energy consumption and reduction of environmental footprint, elongation of the Hardware lifespan (up to 30%), easier controlling of the cooling process via automated remote monitoring and parameter controlling system etc.
The design for COOLBLOCK is based on sustainability principles, flexibility and durability, in order to make Data Manipulation more efficient, while reducing water and material usage, aiming at environmental protection and offering multifold functional capability and easier use of the whole system.
By implementing Machine Learning and AI (Artificial Intelligence), COOLBLOCK can be trained to make its own decisions for operating cost minimization and automation maximization.
COOLBLOCK has application from low to high scale projects, from a small office for personal or professional use, to massive industrial units, thanks to the flexibility of its Modular Design that allows the connection of multiple devices at any time, based on the corresponding needs of the user.
